Artist Michael DuBois created this image to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival of Music and Art. Elements in this design were inspired by Joni Mitchell's lyrics for her song Woodstock . Music and art are a way to transcend the mundane and seek the sublime. This piece was intended to convey some of the values that were important to the original Woodstock Festival. The aspiration to surpass the ordinary through the universal language of music and the concept of creating a better world are inherent to Woodstock culture.
